Pick a German artist or architect, or a German work of art or architecture, and do a bit of research. (Certainly, musicians are “artists” too, but we will devote an entire discussion to them alone and their works in a couple weeks so let’s focus here just on art and architecture.) Then, share your research in your own words with me and your peers. First, let us know what you have decided to focus on and what inspired you personally to make this choice of topic. Next, discuss at least three reasons, supported by your research, why your chosen artist or architect, or German work of art or architecture is important. Wrap up your post with a simple reflection on what you consider to be the most important cultural aspect of your topic. Please include images, sounds, and/or videos to illustrate your presentation. Be sure to INSERT and NOT attach the images, sounds, and/or videos. Cite and fully reference sources, including images, with the Author, Title & Date, include links, and put quotes around direct quotes that you borrow. Images also require copyright permission if they are not Creative Commons licensed or Public Domain. For all your German and other foreign language references and citations, you should be using the MLA Style format.

Read your peers´ posts to enrich your understanding of the German-speaking world, past and present. Respond to your peers by engaging them in a discussion of their chosen artists and architects, and their works.

Introduction

The German language is one of the most beautiful and expressive languages in the world. It also lends itself to art that can be interpretive, transformative and even monumental. In this week’s homework assignment, I want you to do some research on a German artist or architect, or a German work of art or architecture. You’ll need to find an online resource that includes information about their biography; professional achievements; awards received by them; significant works created by them and how those works relate to their lives as well as what subjects they have dealt with over time (regardless whether it was specifically about Germany).

Post a summary of your research here.

To begin, you’ll need to find an artist or architect whose work you’d like to discuss. This could be anything from Vincent Van Gogh’s road paintings, which I would recommend looking up on Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vincent_van_Gogh), or even the work of Hildegard von Bingen, who lived in Germany during the 11th century AD!

You’ll also want to look up any information about their life and career before they became famous; this will help give context for your post so people can understand what they’re reading better when reading it online instead of just having someone tell them everything at once without giving any background info first so readers don’t get lost along with information overloads that tend happen sometimes when reading lengthy posts too quickly without taking time out for breaks between paragraphs until there’s enough space between sentences where readers can stop scrolling down long passages quickly enough before getting overwhelmed by too much information all mingled together in one place at once rather than spread out evenly throughout various places throughout different sections within each article page itself

Remember to consider this topic as you go about your reading and art/architecture viewing for the week.

What to consider:

Consider the subject matter and its historical context. For example, an artwork made during World War II might be more interesting if it’s about something else, like something from ancient Greece or medieval times.

How to do this:

Research the artist or architect who created the piece you’re interested in. If possible, read about them online before visiting their works of art/architecture so that you can have some background knowledge on what they look like and why they were important enough for someone else to create them (or not). You can also find information at museums or other institutions that house these pieces of art/architecture; many cities have one dedicated solely toward acquiring such items as gifts from foreign countries!

Conclusion

Remember, this is a fun activity! You’re not going to get all the answers right away, and I know you won’t want to give up and give up trying. And remember that even if your research turns out to be wrong, it doesn’t mean that the person who wrote down what you thought was correct didn’t do their job well for us here at The Daily Post!
