1. Rock Lives On!
You are talking to a family member and they are telling you that the rock in their garden is just as much a living organism as the tomato plant in the same garden. In what ways does the rock display traits of living things? In what ways is it non-living? Post your thoughts and/or comment on the thoughts of your classmates.
2. Good Doggo . . .
While walking your dog, you observe that she always stops and sniffs a particular spot in your neighbor's yard. You wonder why. What is a hypothesis that you can make about why your dog sniffs the same spot on every walk? How might you test this hypothesis? Post your thoughts and/or comment on the thoughts of your classmates.
3. "Wait, that can't be true, can it?"
One of the most important thinking habits is detecting when new information challenges your old assumptions. What's one thing that challenged your beliefs from this chapter? Post your thoughts and/or comment on the thoughts of your classmates.
