You are a patient in an acute-care hospital and have been given an incorrect medication. You experienced no adverse effects, and an incident report documented the error (as well as the required documentation in your medical record).
Your physician prescribed the medication for the patient in the adjacent bed in your room. The nurse incorrectly administered it to you.
In accordance with U.S. tort law, will you be able to successfully sue for negligence? Why or why not? Be sure to cite case law that supports your position.
