During our first week of class, I asked you to think about your existing writing process with special attention to projects you’ve been proud of in the past. Now I would like you to think about your writing output, beyond the process itself. Think about the following three questions:
What are your strengths as a writer?
What are some areas where you’d like to improve in your writing?
Where did these impressions come from? Is this your evaluation of your writing or what teachers and professors have told you in the past?
After spending some time with these questions, revise your response into 2-3 paragraphs and email them .
In other words, your email should not simply include your three paragraphs but should instead properly address me (Professor Miller), include some kind of introductory text, introduce your paragraphs, include your paragraphs, and then conclude with a closing and your name ( Yasmine).
I know that composing emails can feel awkward, but this is a great chance to practice as well as to allow me get to know you better as a writer. Our journey begins now!
