Fostering positive relationships with students is a must. In education, obtaining feedback is crucial to the success of the educational experience for all stakeholders. Positive feedback can encourage a student in so many ways, from them achieving a higher grade, or even increased effort in the course. the Bible is clear on how we are to love and encourage others in all ways so that together all human beings can flourish and grow in their lives. As an educator it is so important to give students feedback, especially positive feedback. the Bible says “If you listen to constructive criticism, you will be at home among the wise. If you reject discipline, you only harm yourself; but if you listen to correction, you grow in understanding. Fear of the LORD teaches wisdom; humility precedes honor.” (BibleStudyTools.com, 2022) In receiving and giving feedback we are encouraging our fellow man to achieve more which helps to solidly faith and the truth in Jesus Christ our Savior.
In conclusion, “Teachers’ feedback has been found to influence their relationships with students and students’ outcomes, including their academic engagement and aspects of their self-perceptions (Dobbs & Arnold, 2009; Matheson & Shriver, 2005).”
