1. What should you be looking for in books or materials to minimize children’s exposure to gender stereotypes? Identify one book and one open-ended material to include in your learning area that disrupts gender, family, media or body image stereotypes.
For example, you could have a recipe book in the kitchen of the restaurant that has a male on the cover. For an example of a material, you could display pictures of females working on a construction site in the woodworking learning area.
2. What could you include that would support Indigenization of your chosen area? Justify your choices.
