Darlyn Discussion:
If I were the CEO of a not-for-profit organization, the two fundraising methods I would focus on are grants and corporate gifts. Grants can provide large sums of money at one time for impactful projects and programs. Building relationships with foundations and government agencies to secure grants would be crucial. Corporate gifts can also result in significant contributions when partnerships are forged with businesses (Worth, 2019). Companies aim to boost their image through corporate social responsibility programs, so appealing to those motivations could pay off.

Compassion International utilizes its website well for online fundraising. A main tab prompts visitors to sponsor a child which tugs at the heartstrings. The sponsorship process is simple and secure for one-time or recurring monthly donations. Compassion also features stories and videos of children positively impacted by sponsors (Compassion International, 2023). This puts faces to the cause to compel visitors to give. Additionally, Compassion engages online visitors through campaigns like “Give a Gift” for Christmas donations. Soliciting small $10-20 holiday gifts makes supporting Compassion easy. Overall Compassion’s website effectively enables fundraising by making it uncomplicated for visitors to find opportunities to give to the mission. The strategies focus on emotion and convenience which I believe serve Compassion well in gathering donations through its digital presence. This covers preferred CEO fundraising approaches and analyzes the effectiveness of how Compassion International currently leverages its website to solicit donor funds online.

Stephanie Discussion:
Hello everyone, in looking through the different fundraising methods, I have chosen to use the events fundraising and online donations. I have chosen these two methods because they are effective and have proven to work for the company previously. For example, the buddy bass fundraiser has been an annual event for the company. Bass Pro sponsors this event it is a fishing tournament. This event has a first place prize of $1,500 and all the funds raised go towards the Arc of the Ozarks (The Arc of the Ozarks, 2024). The next Buddy Bass fishing tournament will be April 27th 2024 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Online donations are used on social media, with people having the opportunity to read the Arc's story. Employees even have an option to give back through The Arc Gives fundraiser. Employees could have a set amount taken from their check every two weeks, once a month, or a one time donation. Employees also have the right to decline.
I do believe the Arc's approach to fundraising is appropriate. These fundraising opportunities provide a lot of attention towards the Arc. This draws in some new attention as well, giving the general public an idea of what the Arc does for the community, as many of the clients participate in this event too. The Arc also uses KPIs which measure the success of the company's specific goals like donations expected and repeat donors (Clepper, 2023).
