Family Description– provide a thorough overview of the Jarrett family to include all immediate/primary family members.
Family Dynamics– thoroughly describe the immediate family member’s dynamics to include the following:
- How the immediate family members interact with each other
- How they communicate
- Who does most of the talking
- Who is ignored
- Family roles
- Power structure
- Problem solving abilities
Who does the family identify as the primary client and why? What is the primary’s client “role” in the family? Explain how you determined this to be the primary client’s role.
Considering the family’s patterns of interaction identify two dysfunctional family patterns and explain how those patterns impact family functioning.
Based on your assessment of the family what is the primary issue impacting the family system? Explain your rationale as it relates to the identified issue.
Social/External Supports- Create a family eco-map to depict the family’s relationships with others including extended family, friends, neighbors. Community involvement, and social institutions.
Strengths & Weaknesses- describe the family’s areas of strengths and the family areas of weakness.
Considering the family’s strengths and weaknesses, social/external supports, and what you have determined to be the family’s primary issue thoroughly explain how you would intervene with this family.
