Why did the United States Invade and Occupy Iraq in 2003? Why did the US go to War in Iraq? Was it because of Weapons of Mass destruction, the War on Terror, oil, recasting the military, world hegemony, reform of the Greater Middle East, spreading democracy, or because a small group of policy makers (the Neo-conservatives) had inordinate influence? Assess the role of each of these in your answer.
