Select a Country for Country Report
Students will choose a country and begin to research information about its political and economic system, history, geography, population, culture, political rights, human rights record, and focus on a current issue or political controversy, or event that is facing that nation. Each student will fill out a country report and write a one (1) page essay (which includes MLA style parentheticals (in-text citations) and Works Cited page) about their country’s current issue, political controversy, or event (75 points).
Students can find the Country Report form in the PLS 2200 Course Booklet (2012) by Dr. Laurel Mayer. Or students can go to Country Report Instructions (Content Tab, Course Overview).
Also, review the SCC Libguide on Political Science, PLS 2200 (under Content Tab, Course Overview Country Report Instructions) for resources for this project. The PLS 2200 Libguide is our class’ library website for a variety of international resources, e.g. books, e-books, articles, and films. It has a wealth of information that will be very helpful to students while doing this research on their paper and other assignments!
