Recently, the Air Force has announced the return of waist measurements and weight requirements to be incorporated for PT standards. This regulation was removed from physical assessments in 2020 amid the pandemic and the decrease of PT test held due to quarantine requirements. The problem with reinforcing this standard is how this inaccurate component of the PT tests have caused many service members to develop eating disorders in fear of failing the component. This can potentially affect all service members, especially those up for promotion.
