The commercial using ethos by using celebrity athletes that are well-known for their success in their sport (step one). Each of their accomplishments in sports exemplifies a high level of fitness, strength, and physical ability links the Subway product to these lifestyle representations (step two).This healthy lifestyle is further exemplified in the way the commercial highlights the “fresh” ingredients used in their sandwiches. The visual “coolness” factor portrayed by celebrity athletes asks the viewers to believe Subway’s product can make them healthy and fit also (step three).
This authenticity asks the viewers to go to Subway believing that Subway can accomplish representations of a fit, healthy, and cool lifestyle and are persuaded to eat Subway (step four).
