Can someone please proofread my grade 10 English work and give me some edits and feedback? Thank you ( It would be better if you could edit my sentence structure and vocab choice. )
Unifying similarities between 2 books:
Hello everyone! Today, I’ll analyze the similarities between the play “Macbeth” and the book “The Skin I’m In.” The two stories are related to the theme: Your fate is in your hands, and the main takeaway message is that everyone you meet has the power to alter your life path. This change may be positive or negative, but life belongs to you; you can choose who to contact. Your decisions, cognition and concentration play a crucial role.
The two stories’ main characters encounter and interact with various people. In the play “Macbeth,” he meets the three witches, and the third witch says, “All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafter!” This passage evokes the evilness within Macbeth and serves as Macbeth’s main call to action. Macbeth chose to hold these beliefs, and as a result, his choices had a detrimental effect on his life. He started by killing the king of Scotland, then he kept going down the dark road, causing him to have regrets and tragedies. Similarly, in the book “The skin I’m in,” the bully John-John McIntyre says, “Don’t let that fancy name fool you; she ain’t nobody worth knowing. Meleeka, who listened and cared about his opinion, felt insecure and inadequate, had low self-esteem and started to doubt her identity leading her to a negative path.
Lady Macbeth also plays a vital role in Macbeth’s decisions and life. Lady Macbeth scolds and goads her husband into committing regicide when he is indecisive about killing Duncan. She says, “Wouldst thou have that Which thou esteem’st the ornament of life, And live a coward in thine own esteem, Letting “I dare not” wait upon “I would,” Like the poor cat i’ th’ adage?” Once again, Macbeth made his own decisions and followed Lady Macbeth’s plan. The decision resulted in him further panic, regret, and tragedy. In the book “The Skin I’m in, “one of the antagonists, Charlese Jones, flicking her lighter’s flame close to Maleeka’s head, says, “Do what I say or I’m gonna do worse yet.” Despite knowing that the more she hangs out with Charlese and her friends, the more wrong steps she will take, Meleeka still does what they say. Meleeka gained nothing from this decision; instead, it led her to betrayal, suspension, and regrets.
Pay attention to the wise and make positive, confident moves. When Banquo and Macbeth hear the witches’ prophecies, he reminds and warns Macbeth, saying, “But ’tis strange. And oftentimes, to win us to our harm, The instruments of darkness tell us truths, Win us with honest trifles, to betray’s In deepest consequence.” Much earlier than Macbeth, Banquo realizes that the predictions are temptations that only reveal part of the truth. Macbeth, on the other hand, chooses to ignore his words and continues to plan the murder in his castle. Even worse, he lies to him and claims he has stopped thinking about the witches. Since Macbeth refused Banquo’s idea and processed his plans directly, he inadequately affected the king, Banquo, and Macduff’s family, bringing tragedy for himself. Switching back to the novel I have read, Maleeka meets a new teacher, Mrs. Saunders. In contrast to the others at her school, she is the only one who understands Maleeka’s inner feelings and helps her realize that she is valuable and not the same person everyone else perceives her to be. She says to everyone, ?To look in the mirror and like what you see, even when it doesn’t look like anybody else’s idea of beauty.” Maleeka listened and trusted her inspiring words, and she regained her confidence. Miss Saunders had an impact on Maleeka’s life, which marked a turning point in her journey. Overall, both Banquo and Mrs. Saunders positively influenced the main character. However, Macbeth ignored the positive and chose the negative, while Maleeka chose the positive. This caused one to experience tragedy while the other experienced success.
I made a movie poster for my media piece. The poster is divided in two, with “Macbeth” on the left and “The Skin I’m In” on the right. I have written the unifying theme in the center. The primary colour scheme for “Macbeth” is dark purple because, as I mentioned earlier, he sided with evil and suffered tragic consequences. He is in control of lady Macbeth and the three witches. The evil and major influencers tend to be bigger than Banquo, as their words outweigh Banquo. To demonstrate that Maleeka has made a wise choice, I chose saturated blue as my colour scheme. She is standing confidently in front of the mirror, loving herself, just as Mrs. Saunders had said. On this side, the positives outnumber the negatives, so the bullies are typically more minor.
