Hello All,
Instructional alignment provides an opportunity of learning experiences at a higher expectation within objectives, assessments, and the overall content of the course. Pertaining to constructive alignment for example, there are opportunities for deeper meaning and learning outcomes for students to connect to the teaching and assessment methods (Light, G., et al., 2009). Instructional alignment lists how course goals are imperative to improve word of thought of educational statements, objectives are more direct and concrete in what the student will learn/understand by the end of the lesson, and lastly, the outcomes of the assessments will see a higher improvement. It is imperative that instructors not only have lesson plans and curriculum, but in addition, show purpose and the content well thought out to ensure students can be successful during the lessons and assessments. In higher education, there is a level of expectancy of excellence that differs from any other level of education, and with this, it is imperative for instructors to present this understanding and give the students the foundation to succeed at these standards.
