Develop four strategies for networking and collaboration for your organisation, at least one strategy should be developed for an external collaboration with a contact or another organisation; this will include:
assessing the networking and collaboration needs of the organisation, and how performance may be improved by this
identifying and prioritising organisational and individual needs
identifying the gaps in networks and collaborative practice, and the actions that can be taken to fill these
gathering and reviewing relevant information relating to the situation of need
initiating relationships with inter and/or intra sectoral professions and organisations, as needed
sharing information and resources with others to avoid duplication in service delivery
maintaining currency and accessibility of information
determining the kind and level of collaboration, negotiating this with the relevant persons, and documenting the outcomes and strategies that have been decided
Work collaboratively with external individuals or groups in three different service delivery situations; this will include:
identifying opportunities that meet client, personal and/or organisation goals
planning and implementing integrated projects and service delivery, as relevant to each situation
liaising with staff and contacts from other organisations on a formal and informal basis
promoting the organisation positively in all activities; for example, having an appropriate personal appearance and interacting with others in a professional and personable way
communicating with others on the issues, policies and practices of the organisation, using the required methods and formats
applying confidentiality measures, as appropriate to the situation, to protect clients, the organisation and networks
maintaining networks and work relationships to provide benefits, and seeking ways to improve and maintain your networks and collaborative partnerships
monitoring the benefits to others to manage ongoing participation requirements
evaluating requirements, including strengths and weaknesses of collaborations, and making recommendations for changes, where necessary
documenting your collaborations to identify what was planned and implemented, and to provide the results and outcomes of these.
