You have been assigned a 7 year-old-child (Harper) who is diagnosed with Down Syndrome. Harper is often disruptive in the classroom and engages in escape-maintained behaviors. Specifically, Harper’s teacher is concerned about them leaving the classroom without permission. In the past, Harper’s teacher has contacted their parents, told them to raise their hand to leave the class, and sent them to the principal for leaving the classroom. The consultant has met with the teacher and the teacher has agreed to use break cards. Harper will be prompted to use a break card when they stand up from their seat.
