User experience is central to interaction design. Find and ?examine

  • User experience is central to interaction design. Find and  examine a handheld device, such as a smartphone, tablet, remote control,  gaming console, smartwatch, etc. What are three relevant usability and  user experience goals you would use to evaluate the device, and what  question would you ask based on each goal to assess specific aspects of  the user experience? Why are these goals the best ones to apply to your  device?
  • Equally important to user experience in interaction design is the  design process. How do the four basic activities of interaction design  found in section 2.2.5 of Chapter 2 relate to either the Star model or  Google Design Sprint model? What are the advantages and disadvantages of  each model? Which do you prefer? Why?

My name is Princess, and I currently work as an entry-level help desk in a startup IT company. This course will help me gain more knowledge in the IT field that could help me advance in my career. My goal is to be a part of the engineering team somewhere in the future. As of now, I am focusing on completing my Master’s degree. It may be a struggle to meet both responsibilities, but I will work hard to achieve where I want to be.

The device to examine is a smartphone, precisely Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Usability is about a user’s experience when interacting with the product or system. Factors to consider:

Intuitive Design- Effortlessly navigation experience

Ease of learning- How fast to learn using the product.

The efficiency of use- How quickly a user can accomplish a task

What are design sprints? According to Google’s official website. “A five-day process for answering critical business questions through design, prototyping, and testing ideas with customers.”

Everyone has different learning styles and should consider these before applying any technique.

Design sprints are simple to learn, emphasize collaboration, and use testable prototypes within a specific timeframe. On top of being easy to understand sprints, it also teaches leadership skills as it is critical for designers to lead the team proactively. Experimenting with other methods, quicker and more flexible techniques should be practiced.
