Perspective of Femininity and Masculinity

I need help with typing out my essay I have had writer's block and can really use any help. I can provide the sources to make the essay writing easier. I have attached a document with the layout and requirements for the essay. I can type out the self-reflection on my own as well, it is just the beginning that is giving me trouble.

Perspective of Femininity and Masculinity

To earn a superior grade, this paper (and all papers in this class) should be written like a research paper with citations from the assigned readings throughout. Keep your personal opinions confined to the self-reflection paragraph. Questions posed here in my instructions are meant to be a jumping-off place, and not meant to be literally interpreted, or answered strictly, or directly. They are deliberately abstract.

Your paper should be in narrative, analytical format, not a Q&A. See Rubric to fully understand how the paper will be scored.

Instructions:

Think about traits defined by society in general as feminine or masculine. Make a shortlist of 3-5 traits and characteristics associated with each, Femininity and Masculinity.

Discuss in your writing, feminism, and masculinity, and consider the following about the traits and characteristics you wrote about:

1. Are the traits are learned (socially constructed), or inherent (born with)?

2. Do any of the traits vary across culture? life span? history?

Further, discuss some real life examples in our society, or in your life/culture of patriarchy. BE sure to begin with a definition and explanation of WHAT patriarchy is. Based on the readings,

1. What are the connections between violence and masculinity?

2. How can men benefit from deconstructing notions of masculinity?

3. What are the consequences to women and society if we continue with the status quo (continued inequity and patriarchal influences on women)?

Finally, self reflect. Briefly, share your feelings and thoughts about what you have learned from the readings and activity.

You must cite from the readings I have provided (minimum 3 Authors/references). Bring in additional (outside of class) readings, if you wish, but they must be from scholarly/academic publications and cited and referenced properly. I will follow any links you post to verify or search for it on my own.

Add a reference list so I know which articles you pulled from (min, 3 listed for full points).

Turnitin is activated and will analyze your work for plagiarism.
