Project for MA135

You are doing research on balance and fitness. To complete this research you will need a watch with a second hand. Identify a random sample of n = 12 men and n = 8 women. You must answer this question: How do you establish that this sample is truly random?

Have each subject perform the following task:

a) Have the subjects stand with their hands at their side, raise one knee, cross their ankle over the other knee, squat and bring their hands palms together in front of their chest. Time the subject until they put their foot back down on the floor.

b) Ask the following questions:

i) How many days per week do they exercise?

ii) What is their favorite exercise?

You will analyze your data and compute the following statistics for each group:

1) The Mean and standard deviation of the number of seconds the subject stayed balanced

2) The Median number of days per week exercised

3) The Mode of the favorite exercise

4) The 90% confidence interval of the mean

5) Construct a complete hypothesis test and determine if the two groups have significantly different balance using α = 0.05.

Write a one page introduction to your research, discuss how you selected your sample (is it a random sample?), and write a one page conclusion. Present your data in an organized manner.

Introduction

Whether you’re preparing for baby or just want a few extra items to have on hand, it’s important to have all the knowledge and resources you need to be prepared. That’s why I’ve put together this list of must-haves for new moms.

Have the subjects stand with their hands at their side, raise one knee, cross their ankle over the other knee, squat and bring their hands palms together in front of their chest. Time the subject until they put their foot back down on the floor.

Have the subjects stand with their hands at their side, raise one knee, cross their ankle over the other knee, squat and bring their hands palms together in front of their chest. Time the subject until they put their foot back down on the floor.

Have them stand with feet together and slowly reach forward as far as they can just using their toe and finger tips (without bending their knees).

Have them stand with feet together, raise both arms overhead to the side and touch a finger slowly to each ear (once for each side). Time them.

Have them stand with their feet together and slowly reach forward as far as they can just using their toe and finger tips (without bending their knees).

Time how long it takes for the subject to get back up to standing position.

Have them stand with feet together and reach down as far as they can toward the floor without bending their knees. Measure the distance between the fingertips and the floor.

Have them stand with feet together and reach down as far as they can toward the floor without bending their knees. Measure the distance between the fingertips and the floor.

Have them sit up, knees bent so that the legs make a 90 degree angle with the rest of their body.

Repeat these exercises with both feet on one leg at time for 3 sets before moving on to another exercise (e.g., do not put both feet on one leg at same time).

Have them lie on their back and extend one leg straight up into the air. Measure how far off the ground the toe is. Then have them sit up, knees bent so that the legs make a 90 degree angle with the rest of their body. Measure how far off they can pull the toes while keeping that 90 degree angle intact.

It takes advanced planning to make sure you have all you need once your baby arrives.

As you prepare for the arrival of your baby, it’s important to get ready physically and mentally. You’ll want to make sure that you have all the essentials on hand, including:

A good night’s sleep before labor begins. You need at least eight hours of sleep per night for yourself and your partner to be rested and alert when labor begins. If possible, try not to go more than 12 hours without sleep if possible; however, if this isn’t possible then try making sure that each person gets their own room so they can relax in peace during those crucial hours between midnight and 6am!

Help from family members or friends who are willing to help out during the early days (or weeks) after birth. This could include providing childcare while one parent stays home with baby while others take care of themselves–or even just keeping an eye on them while they’re away from home! Be sure though: no matter how much help there may be available these days – never forget about yourself because everyone deserves time away sometimes too.”

Conclusion

Remember that these are just examples of how you can measure your baby’s progress. You don’t need to follow them exactly; it’s all about creating a system that works for you and your baby!
